Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways, Inc. honors and celebrates outstanding local women through our annual Woman of Distinction events. Our honorees are women and organizations of courage, confidence, and character, whose personal and professional accomplishments help make our world a better place. These remarkable women of achievement come from a variety of professional backgrounds, including education, law, health, business, nonprofit management, and communications. Their talents are broad and their impact far-reaching. Each year we are proud to recognize a select group of talented women who have made significant contributions in their professions and in their communities.
Our 2015 Broome County event took place April 28 at the Binghamton Club in downtown Binghamton and honored Katherine A. Fitzgerald, Esq. Kate became the first woman partner in the firm of Hinman, Howard, and Kattell and has been a dedicated mentor to new women associates, helping them navigate the difficult early years of work in a law firm. She is highly regarded for her commitment to the community, having served on the boards of numerous organizations and having played a key role in keeping WSKG in our community. Kate has been a model of integrity, compassion, and brilliance for young lawyers; has shown tremendous support, love, and generosity to family and friends; is warm and open, constantly making new friends while still cherishing the old ones. We were honored to have her represent us. We were also honored that our National CEO, Anna Maria Chávez was able to join us and inspire us further on this occasion.
Proceeds from our Woman of Distinction events directly support Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways' efforts to help today's girls become the next generation of celebrated women.
