First Lego League Teams

Open to Girl Scouts in grades 4–8

The Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways supports First Lego League teams. First Lego League is an organization that exists to further the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. Every year a challenge is issued that is based on a real-world scientific topic. Teams of between six and ten girls in grades 4 through 8, guided by two adult coaches, participate in the challenge by programming an autonomous robot and by developing a solution to a problem they have identified. Girls have the opportunity to work with Lego Mindstorm Robot kits, explore simple computer programming and compete in a competition! This program is free for registered Girl Scouts.

We are seeking both girls and adults who are interested in forming a First Lego League team. We have a team in the Liverpool area that is looking for a few more members as well as a team in Central Square that needs additional members. No experience is required. If you are interested in participating or would just like more information, send an e-mail to Kim Greacen or call her at 315-698-9400 ext. 2038.
