Open to Girl Scouts in grades K–5, adults, and non-registered girls
Discover how maple syrup is made with a tour, woods walk, and tasting! You will begin by seeing how sap is collected from maple trees. Then take a guided tour through a real live Sugar Shack in the process of creating maple syrup! Learn all about the process, what products can be produced from maple sap, and even get a tasting of some popular treats! Lots of maple products will also be in stock and freshly prepared if you want to purchase something to take home! This program enhances the “Its your Planet - Love it” journey for all levels. For Daisies working on Between Earth and Sky, it demonstrates how certain plants provide nourishment for human consumption. Adults must accompany troops within ratio. Troops must provide own first aider.
Participant Fee: $3 per girl
Minimum # of participants: 4 girls; 1 adult
Maximum # of participants: 20 girls; 5 adults
