Service Unit Encampment Enrichment

This course is required for those who will be running a service unit encampment. Encampments are a wonderful opportunity to provide a safe, fun and educational outdoor experience for three or more troops for one or two nights. The encampment director is the camp director for the weekend. This course will cover the GSUSA Safety Checkpoints and the NY State Department of Health and the American Camp Association procedures. The Service Unit Manager appoints an encampment director who has completed Simply Successful Overnights & Simply Successful Camping (or its equivalent) courses, and has had successful experience in planning and implementing Girl Scout outdoor program. The Encampment Director must attend Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways Encampment Director Update every three years.
