Sunday, March 8 – International Women’s Day

Visit internationalwomensday.com/SelfieCards to download and print out #EachforEqual Selfie Cards to promote action via social media. Show your commitment to help build a more gender-equal world and encourage others to help forge equality by taking a photo with the selfie card and posting it using the hashtags #EachforEqual and #IWD. Encourage girls to post their selfies on our council social media channels—we’re @gsnypenn on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Monday, March 9 – Go-Getter

A go-getter is bold, honest and determined to succeed. Goal-oriented and ambitious, she’s also a life-long learner who believes no challenge is too difficult. What you can do: set a goal to achieve something that matters to you! Learn a new skill to celebrate your love of learning. Create a motivational mantra that can help you get back up when you’re feeling low.

Tuesday, March 10 – Innovator

In our world, innovator can mean so many things. What you can do: comment in the thread of our council social media posts on this day and tell us (or show us!) what being an innovator means to you!

Wednesday, March 12 – Risk-Taker

Courageous and strong, a risk-taker loves to try new things and embrace the unfamiliar. She’s ready to step up and break the mold if that’s what it takes.

What you can do: try something you’ve never done before but have always been interested in. Eliminate “can’t” from your vocabulary because you CAN do anything!

Thursday, March 12 – Girl Scouts’ Birthday

Celebrate Girl Scouts’ 108th birthday at our Cicero, New Hartford and Seneca Falls Service Centers! Enjoy activities from the Heritage Patch Program and a Girl Scout-related snack. Keep your eyes open for special shopping opportunities at our stores today!

Friday, March 13 – Girl Scouts Take Albany!

Hop inside a G.I.R.L. van with council staff and take a trip to the New York State Capitol! Visit the New York State Museum to learn about all the amazing things in New York that we often take for granted. Take a tour of the Capitol building to see the incredible architecture—you’ll get to step inside spaces where all the legislative magic happens!

Saturday, March 14 – Leader

A leader is confident, responsible and committed to changing the world for the better—she’s happiest when others join in! What you can do: lead a Take Action project to solve issues in your community in a sustainable way. Be a role model to younger girls by involving them in your activities and explaining to them why it’s important.

Show us how you’re celebrating #GirlScoutWeek by using the hashtag #NYPENNGSWeek and also tagging us @GSNYPENN—you could be featured on our social media.
