See Yourself at Summer Camp: Girl Scout Programs Open to All Local Youth

Syracuse, N.Y. (April 23, 2025) — Pack your bags and bring your sense of adventure—camp season’s almost here! Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways (GSNYPENN) invites youth entering grades 1–12 this fall (yes, all youth—not just Girl Scouts) for unforgettable fun at its summer camps. The council is home to four properties in New York with a longstanding tradition of building outdoor leadership skills: Camp Amahami in Deposit, Camp Comstock in Ithaca, Camp Hoover in Tully and Camp Trefoil in Harrisville.
Whether kids are into kayaking, hiking, the arts, s’mores by the fire or making new friends, GSNYPENN has something for everyone. With day and overnight options, themed weeks and tons of naturepowered excitement, this is a summer to let them shine. “Camp builds confidence by connecting kids to nature while they unplug and unwind outdoors. Our campers gain lifelong leadership skills, make social connections with peers and trusted staff, try new things, challenge themselves and take safe risks in a nurturing environment,” says Sandra Macklin, GSNYPENN’s Director of Outdoor Experience.
Day camps at Comstock and Hoover run Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for youth entering grades 1-8. Busing is available for $50 per camper per week, with locations in Ithaca and Syracuse TBD. All properties host free open houses before the season starts on the following dates:
- Camp Amahami: June 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Camp Comstock: July 5 from 1 to 3 p.m.
- Camp Hoover: June 29 from 1 to 3 p.m.
- Camp Trefoil: April 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

- Get on Target: July 6-11, entering grades 7-12
- Art Attack: July 6-11, entering grades 2-12
- Night Owls: July 13-18, entering grades 5-12
- Wilderness Explorers: July 20-25, entering grades 5-12
- Water Fun Mini Session: July 27-29, entering grades 2-12
All-Gender Day Camp at Comstock in Ithaca
- Enchanted Forest: July 7-11, entering grades 1-8
- To The Stage: July 14-18 AND July 21-25, entering grades 1-8 (two weeks, no camp on weekends)
- Creative Campers Mini Session: July 28-30, entering grades 1-8
- Prehistoric Party: August 18-22, entering grades 1-8
- Ahoy, Comstock Mateys: August 11-15, entering grades 1-8

- To the Moon & Back Again: July 7-11, all-gender, entering grades 1-8, optional one overnight addon
- Time Travelers—A Step Through Time: July 14-18, all-gender, entering grades 1-8
- Badge Bonanza: July 21-25, girls-only, entering grades 1-8, optional one overnight add-on
- Song Lake Explorers Mini Session: July 28-30, all-gender, entering grades 1-8
- Hero HQ—Mission Hoover: August 4-8, all-gender, entering grades 1-8, optional one overnight add-on
- Camp Half-Blood: August 11-15, all-gender, entering grades 1-8
- Detective Week—Case Closed: August 18-22, girls-only, entering grades 1-8

- Free Being Me: July 6-11, entering grades 2-12
- Trefoil Trek & Treasure: July 13-18, entering grades 2-12
- Arts & Adventure: July 20-25, entering grades 2-12
- Girl Scouts Golden Eaglets: July 27-August 1, entering grades 2-12
Girl Scouts-Only Counselor-In-Training Programs
- CIT I at Trefoil: July 6-18, entering grades 10-12, stay on-site over the weekend
- CIT II at Trefoil: July 6-August 1, entering grades 11-12, CIT I prerequisite, campers are home July 18-20
