Explore Your World, Girl Scout!

GSNYPENN's Travel Program equips Girl Scouts to change the world by giving them the opportunity to experience it!

Our Travel Program offers a robust experience that follows the Girl Scout Travel Progression. It's designed to ensure our members get the most out of their Girl Scout years, while following our safety protocols. Travel opportunities are available for every level, budget and area of interest—plus, council Experience Credits can be applied towards any event. Explore opportunities below or contact us at info@gsnypenn.org for more information!

Day Trips toggle arrow

Day trips are strategically scheduled on selected school holidays, Saturdays and summer vacation days throughout the year. The purpose of our day trips is to give GSNYPENN Girl Scouts and troops the opportunity to visit areas of New York and Pennsylvania that may not be easy for them to travel to. These trips may follow a holiday theme or offer an opportunity to go somewhere fun on a day off from school. Opportunities are available for every age level and area of our council.

Weekend Trips toggle arrow

Want to see more of our region? Weekend trips are designed to take GSNYPENN Girl Scouts and troops of all levels and sometimes families to new and exciting places within a half-day drive. In addition to our home counties, we may find ourselves exploring more of New England like New York City, Boston and more!

Extended Domestic Trips toggle arrow

Ready for a longer adventure but not quite ready to travel internationally? Domestic trips are intended to meet the same scope of our international trips, but stay right here in the U.S. and occasionally Canada. No passport needed!* Girl Scouts 11+ at the time of travel are eligible. At least one Extended Domestic trip will be offered each year and may occur during Winter Break, Spring Break or over the summer.

*Adults and youth over 16 will need a passport card to enter Canada.

International Trips toggle arrow

The pinnacle of the Travel experience is to go abroad! See beautiful landscapes, experience unique cultures and taste new foods. Working in cooperation with our travel partner, EF Tours, one international trip will be offered each year to take us to another corner of the globe. Typically, these trips are 1-2 weeks long and take place during summer vacation.

Travelers must be age 12 by the time of travel. Email info@gsnypenn.org to register.

Each one of the cities, towns, and villages on this itinerary inspires the imagination in its own unique way.

Journey Down Under - July 2027
From afar, New Zealand and Australia may seem similar. An up-close look reveals distinct cultures and personalities.

WAGGGS World Center toggle arrow

The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts has four World Centers that offer premier programs exclusively for Girl Scouts! These programs focus on culture and service and may incorporate elements of ecology and outdoor adventure.  As part of a new initiative, GSNYPENN will facilitate a journey to one of the World Centers each year on a rotational basis. A limited number of girls will be selected through an application process and partial scholarships may be awarded. To apply, submit the Jotform application by the specified deadline.
