Broome County is the Carousel Capital of the World!
With five restored carousels throughout the region, Broome County holds a very unique piece of history that all Girl Scouts can celebrate! Participants will visit each of the carousels over the summer season to fulfill the requirements of the challenge. When the season ends after Labor Day weekend and the carousels close, participants will receive a specially-designed fun patch in the mail. It's that easy!
Included in the cost of the program is a progress tracker where participants can mark off which carousels they've visited, and, if they're up for a bigger challenge, they can try their hand at more advanced challenge items. Also included are general instructions on how to earn the "I Rode the Carousel Circuit" pin, a separate program run by Broome County and local community partners.
This program is open to all ages, even adults, because everyone can celebrate the carousels! Be sure to check out everything our parks have to offer, like concessions, swimming pools, playgrounds, geocaching, and monuments! Get out there and get riding!
