A day in the woods for Scouts and other youth groups of all ages. Start with a guided map hike where an orienteering club member will show each group how to use the map and compass to find marked locations in the woods. Optionally follow up with a second map hike to try on your own. Each hike takes about an hour. Each troop will start at a different time, as early as 8:30 AM or as late as 1:30 PM to suit your schedule. You can request a time when you register.
$5 per Scout if you print your own maps from a PDF we'll supply, $2 extra if we print maps for you.
Saturday November 9 is our main day, but we can also meet troops on other nearby dates Nov 2-16. Ask about a date that works for you.
For older Scouts with more experience, more challenging hikes are available along with tent camping and a patrol competition on Sunday morning.
