Join us at the Tanglewood Nature Center for an afternoon of learning about animals and exploring their unique habitats-all while earning 2 badges and a fun patch! (Programming and badges earned will be the same as the previous event held at Tanglewood Nature Center in January 2026)
Participants will have the chance to interact with animal residents from five different animal groups. Wildlife educators will explain how these animals survive in nature and how they are cared for at the Tanglewood Nature Center.
Following the animal presentation, there will be a museum tour and a 30-minute guided hike* with nature center staff. Girl Scout staff will conclude the afternoon with activities to help each Girl Scout complete her badge work.
Each Girl Scout will receive a fun patch and two badges at the
event-
* Daisies: Animal Observer and Daisy Trail
Adventure
* Brownies: Bugs and Hiker
* Juniors: Animal
Habitats and Junior Trail Adventure
* Cadettes: Animal Helper
and Eco Trekker
* Seniors: Voice for Animals and Eco
Explorer
* Ambassadors: Water and Eco Advocate
*The outdoor portion of the event will be modified only in cases of extreme, unsafe weather. The hike will still take place in safe, seasonally appropriate weather conditions.
