Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Where is Camp Comstock? toggle arrow

Camp Comstock is in the Finger Lakes Region in Ithaca, N.Y. on Cayuga Lake. Most of our campers are from New York and Pennsylvania, but we have had campers come from all over the United States!

Is Girl Scout camp just for Girl Scouts? toggle arrow

No! Our overnight camps are open to all girls, and we encourage campers to bring a friend, Girl Scout or not.

If your camper would like to become a registered Girl Scout before camp, join here! Non-members have a $40 fee added during the camp registration process.

What activities are offered? toggle arrow

Activities at Comstock include swimming, boating, archery, gaga ball, crafts, games and more! Some activities are age-restricted.

Day Camps: $385 per camper per session

Busing: $50 per camper per week (Optional)

Troop Core Camp: $90 per Girl Scout, $50 per adult, adults within ratio required

Do I register my camper based on their current grade in school? toggle arrow

No, camp registration is based on the grade that your camper is entering for the 2027-28 school year. Girl Scout levels are as follows:

Daisy: Grades K-1
Brownie: Grades 2-3
Junior: Grades 4-5
Cadette: Grades 6-8

What is the waterfront like? toggle arrow

Comstock has amazing views of Cayuga Lake! The lake is busy with other boaters, but we have a sectioned-off swimming area for our campers.

The swimming area is divided into multiple sections. Campers will undergo a swimming assessment to determine their swimming ability, which will determine which sections they can go in.

Water shoes are required to be worn by all swimmers. We have canoes, rowboats, funyaks and sailboats.

How many campers are at camp at a time? toggle arrow

Each week, we will have a maximum of approximately 100 campers between day and overnight programs.

Where do I submit my camper's health information? toggle arrow

After registering for camp, you will receive an email inviting you to create an account with CampDoc. You will submit all health paperwork and complete all camper forms in your CampDoc account.

The below forms must be filled out by a physician:

Physical Form
Permission to Dispense Medication Form

Where do overnight campers sleep? toggle arrow

Campers will stay in our tree-top cabin units or in our platform tent unit with other campers their age.

Can my camper be in the same cabin as their friend? toggle arrow

Yes, we honor 1 buddy request per camper. In your CampDoc account, there will be a place to request a buddy. Please ensure both campers request each other. Buddies must be registered for the same program and be in the same age group.

Not coming to camp with a buddy? No worries! Camp is a place to make new friends.

Can my troop attend camp together? toggle arrow

Absolutely! Camp is for everyone (no adults), but troop members can choose to attend the same week.

What if I have to cancel? toggle arrow

Cancellation notifications will only be accepted in writing to info@gsnypenn.org. Refunds for cancellations (excluding the deposit) are made only if the notification is received by prior the registration deadline, which is June 18, 2027.

After the registration deadline has passed, refunds (excluding the deposit) may only be given if someone on the waitlist can fill the spot. If there is no waitlist, no refund will be issued.

A cancellation may qualify for a refund (excluding the deposit) if the cancellation is due to a qualified medical reason. A written refund request (along with a doctor’s excuse) must be received within two weeks of the cancellation or program date.

Deposits for camps are non-refundable.

Please email info@gsnypenn.org with questions or a cancellation request.

Is financial assistance available? toggle arrow

Yes, financial assistance is available for registered Girl Scouts. We want every Girl Scout to be able to experience camp regardless of their financial situation. Please register for camp first to hold your spot, and then submit this aid request form online.
