Camp Amahami

Deposit, N.Y. • Est. 1929

Camp Amahami is located in Deposit, N.Y. in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. We have proudly provided camping and outdoor experiences since 1929.

With over 450 acres, there is so much to explore at Amahami! Paddle our private lake, try your hand at archery or climb to the top of Page Pond Fire Tower. Join us for new experiences, lifelong friends and lasting memories at Girl Scout summer camp. Camp is open to all girls, not just Girl Scouts!

Not sure if you’re ready to come to camp overnight? Check out our Troop and Family Days at Amahami and Trefoil to participate in fun activities! Bring your lunch and sense of adventure as you spend half the day with our expert staff, participating in activities like archery, a ropes and challenge course and water sports. Explore our properties with your troop or family, doing self-led activities including hiking, crafts and more!

If you are interested in overnight accommodations, please email us at info@gsnypenn.org. Please note that there will be no food service at Amahami or Trefoil during our Troop and Family Days. Overnight accommodations are available at an additional fee.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

If your camper would like to become a registered Girl Scout before camp, join here! Non-members have a $40 fee added during the camp registration process.

What activities are offered? toggle arrow

Activities include swimming, boating, shooting sports, crafts, campfires, gaga ball, campfire cooking, games, hiking and more! Some activities are age-restricted.

Daisy: Grades K-1
Brownie: Grades 2-3
Junior: Grades 4-5
Cadette: Grades 6-8

Where do campers sleep? toggle arrow

Campers will stay in a cabin or platform tent with other campers their age.

What is the waterfront like? toggle arrow

We have our own private body of water named Page Pond (better known to our campers as Lake Waletka)! Since we have it all to ourselves, it is perfect for swimming and boating for both beginners and experts.

The swimming area is divided into multiple sections. Campers will undergo a swimming assessment to determine their swimming ability, which will determine which sections they can go in.

Water shoes are not required, but some campers prefer to wear them. We have canoes, rowboats, kayaks and corcls for campers to use.

How many campers are at camp at a time? toggle arrow

Each week, we will have a maximum of approximately 90 campers.

Can my camper be in the same cabin as their friend? toggle arrow

Yes, we honor 1 buddy request per camper. Please email the camp director with your request. Please ensure both campers request each other. Buddies must be registered for the same program and be in the same age group.

Not coming to camp with a buddy? No worries! Camp is a place to make new friends.

Where do I submit my camper's health information? toggle arrow

After registering for camp, you will receive an email inviting you to create an account with CampDoc. You will submit all health paperwork and complete all camper forms in your CampDoc account.

The below forms must be filled out by a physician:

Physical Form
Permission to Dispense Medication Form

Please email info@gsnypenn.org with questions or a cancellation request.

Is financial assistance available? toggle arrow
